Scope and Contents From the Series: This box contains four diaries and journals related to prison life, service in the army, and a woman’s perspective on the Civil War and service with Mary J. Trumbull’s diary. They recall daily life of a Connecticut soldier, David A. Starr. It further contains the manuscript of Weston Ferris; a Connecticut soldier held in a prison in Andersonville and Belle Island, Georgia starting in 1863.
