Biographical / Historical

Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra, Jose Iturbi Antonin Dvorak (Mx: 065329-065338) Note: Booklet present Note: This recording is actually of his Symphony No. 9 in E minor. His Symphony No. 5 is in F major. It is subtitled “From the New World” because Dvorak wrote it in America and incorporated themes from Black spirituals that he heard, which he proclaimed to be the future of American orchestral music.
