Castellano-Armistice, 1944
Scope and Contents
Aside from a small photograph of 3 men sitting and talking in a room (one in uniform and two not) and an initial report of some kind in Italian dated June 23/24 1944, this folder contains a compilation of the “Diary of General Giuseppe Castellano”, consisting of “Part I - Beginning of Events”, “Part II - Meetings and Discussions”, and “Part III - Conclusions”. The diary is hundreds of pages and was compiled presumably by OSS in a manner incorporating both diary transcriptions and more standard reports.
