Scope and Contents
1. The Sacred Scriptures of Konkokyo (1933). Inside front cover verso handwritten: “Home of Rev. and Mrs. Hideshima Harvest Festival” Inside front cover recto handwritten: 透島 [Tooru Shima] Tooru Hideshima – October 5, 1941.
2. A book of tribute for one Akiko Nakagawa (April 1934), a student at Bailey Gatzert School, Seattle, Washington, who entered Kindergarten on 6 September 1927 and died before 15 June 1933. The book was signed on 27 Mar 1942 by Ada J. Mahon who wrote a tribute to Nakagawa in the book. The book was signed by Yoriaki Nakagawa “To our Pastor Dr. Mathews”. The book was also signed in its English-language front cover recto: “To Gladys Gage | One who can truly appreciate this little book. | Stephen C. Clark (クーラーク) [Clark] [Vertical:] 昭和十六年三月二十六日 [Shо̄wa 16-nen 3-gatsu 26-nichi = Shо̄wa Era Year 16, Month 3, Day 26] | [Horizontal:] 26 March 1942” [The Japanese date was wrong and should have been 昭和十七年, i.e. Shо̄wa 17-nen.]
