Nathan H. Allen Collection

Overview Nathan H. Allen (1848-1925); a prominent organist and composer who composed The Apotheosis of St. Dorothy (1891), as well as over twenty-six 4-part songs, sacred pieces, quartettes, and anthems, as well as sixteen pieces for the organ. The bulk of the collection comprises correspondence, manuscripts, including musical pieces, photographic and print material, and notes on Sarah Bartley (1783-1850) for a short publication of the British stage actress.

Journals cover the times Wheaton toured and lived in Europe going to England, Scotland, and France in the 1820s. Scope and Contents Collection is comprorised of five folders holding 1463 pages of legal proceedings from the Van Womer Brothers' trial that took place between March 31, 1902 and April 18, 1902. Originally these pages would have been bound in 3 volumes, with Volume 1 containting Pages 1-322, Volume 2 containing pages 323-866, and Volume 3 containing pages 867-1423. Additionally there is a 5 page index of witnesses that is included at the end of each volume.
