Scope and Contents

Excellent facsimiles of three manuscript items. No place: various dates, various formats. These were apparently originally thought to be original autograph copies.

1. Copy of signed autograph manuscript of the fourth verse of Field's "The Wanderer" provided to a fan or friend as a "souvenir", the original dated April 22, 1894, no place.

2. Copy of autograph letter signed by Field to Francis Wilson in which he thanks Wilson for an unexpected gift of "the Thackeray", the original dated 1 February, 1889, no place.

3. Copy of letter to Mrs. Erich from Robert Louis Stevenson in which he writes that he is sick in bed. No place, no date.
