With drooping bells of clearest blue
Scope and Contents
A watercolor painting of a sprig of bluebells (3 3/4" x 2 3/4", undated), followed by a 2 verse poem by the poet and Bishop of Calcutta, Reginald Heber (1783-1826). The poem is written in long hand script, and signed, "A.H." A.H. is likely Amanda Heber (1789-1870), the widow of Reginald, who returned to England with her children in 1827, after Reginald's death the previous year. The watercolor and poem are on cream-colored paper, likely removed from the album.
