Scope and Contents

Memorial of the Chamber of Commerce, and certain importing merchants of Philadelphia, praying that the excess of duty under the tariff of 1828, beyond that of former tariffs, on such merchandise as was ordered prior to the passage of the act of 1828, but did not arrive in the United States until after the time limited therein for a continuance of the old duties be remitted. March 12, 1830. Referred to the Committee on Finance, and ordered to be printed. [Washington, D.C. Printed by Duff Green, 1830] 3 p Imprints 4958.

Seeking to designate that the old rate of duty be applied to goods shipped prior to the implementation of the new tariffs.
