Concerning the petitioner's prayer for the remission of bonds which he gave for merchandise imported from Great Britain by the firm of Vanuxem & Clark in 1812, not being aware that said merchandise was being sold on consignment for a British owner. Includes an exchange of correspondence between the Senate committee charged with the petition and the secretary of the Treasury concerning similar cases, with extracts from documents, and the documents in the Kid case
