Scope and Contents
6 1/2" x 4" 109pp leather bound diary and account book, of which 44+3 pp are narrative travel accounts. Also includes list of birds sighted, log of bird skins collected, and other notes. The unknown diarist apparently travelled from New York City to Pensacola, Florida, where the narrative begins. It recounts his trip to New Orleans with specific details of his experience there, including at least 3 visits to the Exposition and an account of his trip back to New York via railroad to Savannah and by ship to New York.
