Scope and Contents

Series contains approximately 50 letters spanning Charles Beckwith's years at the Fort Monroe training camp, as well as at the front in France. Beckwith frequently writes to Lydia Beckwith Moore, and Alice Beckwith, his sisters.First box of series consists of photocopies of letters, and second box consists of original letters. Second box also contains a file of background information on Beckwith.

In his correspondence Beckwith recalls hospital work, sleep, and daily life of being in the expeditionary forces, as well as interactions with French soldiers.
