Bird Stamps (U.S. and Mongolian), 1957 - 1991


Scope and Contents

This collection contains bird stamps issued in the United States by the Department of Agriculture and the Department of the Interior, as well as stamps from Mongolia issued depicting birds of North America. A large number of the stamps were issued recently since the 1980s, and they contain images of various kinds of waterfowl, ducks, and other birds native to specific regions of the United States.

Collection is primarily in English with a small number of stamps in Mongolian.

Biographical / Historical

This collection was originally part of the Ostrom Enders Ornithology Collections. It has accrued materials from recent years with gifts from John William Pye (bookseller- Brockton, Mass.)


From the Collection: 30 Cubic Feet (70 boxes; 36 flat boxes, 16 slide boxes, 1 oversize storage box, 17 photographic storage containers)
