This series includes correspondence, and financial records of Richard Watkinson (1776-1798) relating to his business ventures in New York City spanning 1795 to 1798. The correspondence frequently capture Watkinson’s sense of humor and entrepreneurial spirit. The records cease with Watkinson’s death in New York City in 1798 from yellow fever. Series is arranged by material type.
