Scope and Contents

This series consists of correspondence, and receipts from Jane Huntington Watkinson Norton; a wife of Frank Louis Norton, an alumni of the Trinity College class of 1868. Correspondence begin in 1853, and span the next several decades until 1888. They recall friendships, daily occurrences, marriage, and travels throughout the United States and Europe by acquaintances and family. Receipts span 1867-1881 and cover the day-to-day activities of running a household including purchases from grocers, dairymen, seamstresses, tailors, and providers of household goods. Correspondence are arranged chronologically by decade.
