This series includes family correspondence such as telegraphs from Colombia on mining ventures, mining instructions on how to feed furnaces, and personal papers relating to Philo Durfee; a business associate of the Clarks who was a shareholder in the Guadalupe and New Almaden quicksilver mines in California during the mid-19th century.
