This series contains correspondence related to Brinley’s work as an interpreter of Chaucer’s poetry, including acquisitions correspondence from the mid-1980s and a background file. It documents the evolution of her performance, and decisions beginning in 1919. It also includes correspondence from the Women’s Club of New Canaan, Connecticut, regarding committee work and applauding Brinley’s commitment to performing. The series also contains letters of support from those who attended the performances as well as personal correspondence relating to friends and acquaintances, and letter books and correspondence from her travels to Europe in 1926.
