Biographical / Historical
The Henley Royal Regatta is a multi-day rowing event that originated in March 1839 at Henley-on-Thames, England. The Trinity College crew team won a notable victory there in 1976 when the varsity heavyweight crew placed first, setting a new course record for the event. The win was the team's first at the international competition, having lost in the finals in 1969 and 1971. Trinity became the second American crew team ever to win the event.
