Native American
Scope and Contents
Series 3 contains alphabetized subject and writer files related to genres and authors prevalent in American Literature and the discourse over multicultural American writing. Subject files deal with discussion over what pieces should be included, why, and who should be included in the anthology. The editorial board faced decisions over what constituted certain genres of writing, such as Native American, as well as what pieces could best convey the nature of slavery and captivity in the 19th century.
