Scope and Contents

This series contains a range of correspondence from family members writing to Odell Shepard to prominent writers such as Irving Babbitt (1865-1933), Sinclair Lewis (1885-1951), and Wallace Stevens (1879-1955). It also contains correspondence from publishers such as Alfred A. Knopf (1892-1984), and newspapers, primarily the Christian Science Monitor. A portion of the series consists of mail from readers of his works. Series is arranged alphabetically by recipient, and by date when miscellaneous recipient.

This collection is open to the public and must be used in the John M.K. Davis Reading Room of the Watkinson Library, Trinity College Library, Hartford, Connecticut. Researchers must register and agree to copyright and privacy laws when using this collection.
